Hello and Welcome, I am Cllr Steve Bowles, the newly elected Chairman of Aylesbury Garden Town and Cabinet portfolio holder for Town Centre Regeneration. The first thing I want to do is to say is a big thank you on behalf of the myself, and the Aylesbury Garden Town team, to Cllr. Bill Chapple. Bill, the retiring Chairman, has supported the project from the start and has been key to leading the Masterplan development. I am delighted that Bill remains part of the team serving as Vice-Chairman on the Board. Thank you, Bill.

Aylesbury Garden Town (AGT) has today published its Garden Town 2050 Vision document showing how future developments in Buckinghamshire’s county town will take place with an emphasis on green space, improving public transport links and creating communities with unique characteristics.

Aylesbury Garden Town is very pleased to be a sponsor of WhizzFizzFest this year and to mark the occasion, extra cycle parking will be provided to encourage more visitors to come to the festival on two wheels. One of the key focuses of becoming a Garden Town, is to reduce the carbon footprint by making it easier for people to choose more sustainable modes of travel. With lots of people expected in the town for the family friendly literary and arts festival on Saturday 22nd June, which is headlined by Dame Darcey Bussell, it’s the ideal time to encourage anyone who can, to either cycle, or come on foot and enjoy a healthy and active start to a great day.

Welcome cash boost for Aylesbury Garden Town Programme to help make vision a reality

Plans to transform Aylesbury have taken another step forward this week, with news of additional government funding for the Garden Town Programme. Nine million pounds is to be divided between 21 areas of key growth across the UK, that are being developed as Garden Communities. Aylesbury is one of these, with just over 16,000 new homes being built within the town by 2033 and it will receive a further £420,000 from the Ministry of Housing to continue work on the project.
